Rudolf-Freudenberg-Award 2018: AfB receives award for overall business performance

Special award for the innovative and sustainable concept of the AfB gGmbH

 

Yesterday evening, On June 18th, AfB (Arbeit für Menschen mit Behinderung) received a special award for its overall corporate performance, at the presentation of the Rudolf Freudenberg Prize 2018 at the Mark Fortress in Magdeburg.

As Europe's largest non-profit IT company, AfB combines high-quality IT services with ecological and social sustainability. The international success, a clearly formulated expansion strategy as well as the exemplary training concept, especially for workshop crossovers, convinced the jury. AfB authorized signatory Monika Braun accepted the award and thanked the AfB employees for their excellent work.

The AfB specializes in secure data destruction and IT remarketing and employs 440 people, of which about 45% have a disability. The aim of AfB is to enable people with and without disabilities to provide professional and ecologically sustainable IT services. Therefore all work steps in the company are designed barrier-free and are carried out hand in hand by disabled and non-disabled people. Whether wheelchair, learning disability or deafness - at AfB a handicap is no obstacle.

In 2018, the Rudolf Freudenberg Prize will be awarded under the motto "Innovative business ideas and concepts". This year's competition was aimed at inclusion companies whose business ideas and concepts have proven to be innovative and successful and who are prepared to pass on their experience to third parties. The competition focuses on the professional inclusion of people with mental illnesses and disabilities.
